Inactivity Justification / Justificación de la inactividad

Hello dears, how are you doing? To be honest, I am a bit ashamed of myself for not having written anything in what I consider an unacceptable amount of time, but I kind of have an excuse. Last Sunday was my birthday and last Saturday was the day before my birthday, and yesterday was the day after my birthday. So I think I should be forgiven. However, being as freak as I am, I must tell you that on Saturday I went to that talk I wrote about in my last post, which I am going to reference quite a few times in this post, so if you haven’t read it, read it now!

I don’t know if you feel the same way, but I usually get ridiculously excited when I read about talks, mainly because they are always pictured so nicely and are given these fantastic names, so  there’s nothing to blame me for. However, the truth is that disappointment is the most common feeling in me after attending talks and I thought I should be careful with this one, since I love the topic and I didn’t want to relate Les Misérables to a dreadful talk. The truth is that it turned out to be a fantastic talk, very entertaining and full of interesting information about the novel, the musical and the film.

Moving on, I hope you remember about me writing about this 1993 French bank note with part of Liberty Leading the People, which I was aiming to buy. Well, I wish I was as quick doing things as I have proved to be finding and buying the bank note. I’ve got it now, it’s all mine, MY PRECIOUS!

It has been a very French birthday, to be honest. I gave myself the French bank note as a present, I was also given a beautiful shirt with French motif (thanks, Rookie!) and my friend Pickup bought me a very amusing mug, which changes when filled with hot drink. How is this mug French? You will be asking yourselves… Well, I will use it for breakfast and have French toast with it! How witty of me!

Last but not least, another good friend of mine, Alisa, bought me an incredibly heavy and amazing book on contemporary art which is going to be quite useful when it comes writing this blog!

So yeah, I just wanted to justify myself and let you know that I am doing research on the next artist, because I really like it and I wouldn’t like to miss out any important information about him!

Hola queridos y queridas, ¿qué tal? ¿cómo lo llevan? Para ser sinceros, me avergüenzo de mí mismo por no haber escrito ningún post en lo que considero que es una cantidad inaceptable de tiempo, pero todo tiene un porqué, y en este caso está más que justificado. Este domingo fue mi cumpleaños, el sábado fue el día anterior a mi cumpleaños y el lunes el día posterior a mi cumpleaños, así que creo que merezco ser perdonado. En cualquier caso, siendo tan friki como soy, les diré que el sábado asistí a la charla de la que hable en mi último post, al cual voy a hacer referencia un par de veces en este post, así que si todavía no lo has leído, hazlo ahora!

No sé si a ustedes les pasa lo mismo, pero normalmente me emociono mucho más de la cuenta cuando encuentro charlas que me interesan, principalmente porque siempre las venden como algo tan prometedor y que no te puedes perder, y les dan esos nombres que suenan tan bien… No obstante, normalmente siempre acabo decepcionado, preguntándome por qué habré ido a la charla y perdido el tiempo, así que para la de este último sábado decidí no hacerme ilusiones, ya que el tema me gusta bastante y no quería malos recuerdos asociados. Sin embargo, resultó ser una charla bastante amena y llena de información súper interesante, tanto sobre la novela, como el musical y la película.

LES MISÉRABLES: DE LAS PÁGINAS AL ESCENARIO Y A LA PANTALLA.

Cambiando de tema, espero que se acuerden de lo que escribí sobre el billete francés de 1993 con parte de La Libertad Guiando al Pueblo que quería desesperadamente comprar. Bueno, ojalá fuese tan resolutivo con todo en mi vida, porque…  ya lo tengo en mi poder, ES MÍO, MI TESORO! (El vídeo está en italiano, ya que no encuentro en español el fragmento de la película y el italiano es bastante parecido al español, para que se hagan una idea).

Como ya les comenté antes, fue mi cumpleaños, y a decir verdad, fue un cumpleaños muy francés. Yo me autorregalé el billete francés, y aparte de eso, me regalaron una camisa con motivos franceses y una taza súper entretenida en la que empiezan a aparecer dibujitos cuando se le echa bebida caliente. Y ustedes se preguntarán, ¿qué tiene que ver la taza esa con lo francés? Bueno, pues como la voy a usar en el desayuno, va a ser compañera de la baguette… ¡Qué ingenioso por mi parte!

Último pero no menos importante, también me regalaron un libro de arte con las 200 obras esenciales de arte contemporáneo que me va a ser súper útil a la hora de buscar inspiración para el blog, por lo que he podido hojear.

Así que eso, básicamente solo quería justificar mi silencio durante estos últimos días y hacerles saber que todavía estoy buscando información y organizándola sobre el artista para el próximo post, ya que es buenísimo y no quiero dejar nada afuera.
